HMP Grampian Christmas food hampers
For the third consecutive year HMP Grampian worked alongside the Fraserburgh and Peterhead “Gift Tree” to produce emergency food hampers, to be distributed to families deemed to be in need of assistance by various referral agencies co-ordinated by Aberdeenshire Council Social Work Dept.
Various local schools, charities, businesses and staff within HMP Grampian donated items of non-perishable food items which a small group of men along with Officer Instructor Iain, processed into hampers and palletised them ready to be distributed throughout the local community.
In total they produced 240 hampers which provided 210 families with three meals each over the Xmas period.

Through agreement with the Gift Tree, surplus food stuffs left over were donated to “CFINE”, who provide a regular food bank service in Peterhead
This foodbank service offers an additional means of support to prisoners upon release from custody.
