This report sets out the progress we have made with Mainstreaming equality into the Scottish Prison Service (SPS), our Gender Pay Gap and the progress made against our Equality Outcomes under the Scottish specific duty1.

It is acknowledged that the number of people in prison with social care need is a growing issue in Scotland. While the NHS provides health care services in prisons in Scotland local authorities do not provide social care in prisons.
