Partnership Event at HMP Perth

An event on Thursday 2nd April saw over 30 third sector partners promoting their services in HMP Perth.

The event, for all staff and prisoners, provided an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain an overview on what services are available within the local authority areas of Perth, Dundee, Fife and Angus, as well as national services. Attendees benefitted by taking advantage of the expertise and knowledge in attendance and further developing links between our staff, those in our care and our community partners.

All of HMP Perth’s key partners, stakeholders and support services were in attendance to explain what their specific role is and how referrals can be signposted to them including Shelter, New Routes, YMCA, Barnardos, Families Outside and more. They were also on hand to answer any questions staff or prisoners had.

This event was held to tie in with the roll out of the Short Term Prisoners Integrated Case Management (STP ICM) scheme and identifying the individual needs of the prisoners which will be part of the Personal Officers’ role. By providing an awareness of the support our partners can provide, Perth envisage their Personal Officers will be better equipped to encourage positive engagement and uptake of the available support.
