Rewards, benefits and recognition

It is essential that staff feel a sense of satisfaction from work and can see that their contributions are recognised and rewarded. Our Reward Offer has been designed to meet our employees’ diverse needs and aspirations and enable the achievement of our Corporate Objectives.

Career and development

SPS is committed to helping employees plan how to get from where they are to where they want to be in their life and career, whether that means a different job at the same level, a promotion, or developing themselves and doing their current job even better.

Health and wellbeing

The SPS is a Healthy Working Lives employer and is committed to fostering a positive working environment that promotes and protects the physical and mental wellbeing of its employees through successful wellbeing initiatives and resources.

As a Civil Service organisation, we must ensure that we are employing people entitled to work in the UK and that our employees have the honesty, integrity and values needed for government-related work.

SPS policies

We seek to ensure that our people are motivated and highly skilled, and that our HR practices support the delivery of a progressive prison service.
