Standards of Service for Victims and Witnesses

The Scottish Prison Service has today jointly with the Parole Board for Scotland, Police Scotland, the Scottish Courts and Tribunal Service and Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service published a report on our Standards of Service for Victims. In accordance with the Victims and Witnesses (Scotland) Act 2014 each agency was required to publish a report within 12 months of the publication of our Standards. The publication of this report fulfills that requirement.

The report sets out what we have done and how we have performed against these standards over the past year and any changes we intend to make and why.

In addition the justice agencies are also publishing our Standards for the forthcoming year on which we will report. The SPS has not made any changes to their Standards of Service going forward and is instead seeking to further embed the necessary systems to evidence compliance with the Standards and service to victims.
