'INSIDE OUT', an exhibition showcasing the art work of people now in custody, but who have previously served in the armed forces, took place at St Paul's in Kinross, earlier this month.

All 56 pieces were available to purchase and we are delighted to announce that a fantastic £835 was raised, with all funds going to SSAFA - the armed forces charity.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity help provide practical, financial and emotional support for service personnel, veterans and their families. While their core business is face to face case-working in client’s homes, ‘prison in-reach’ is also very much part of their remit. In HMP Perth, a veterans group runs monthly.

Local SSAFA chairman Andy Middlemiss said: “Andy Hodge, the Governor of HMP Perth and his team have been so supportive and we could not be more thrilled to deliver this exhibition. All proceeds will enable SSAFA to continue its work with veterans and Forces families throughout the country.”

Governor in Charge of HMP Perth, Andy Hodge said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for those in our care, all of whom have previously served in the armed forces, to showcase their talent and creativity, whilst hopefully raising vital funds for SSAFA. I would like to thank the veterans themselves for their personal contribution to the project, Fife College for supporting the veterans throughout, and a special thanks to Andy Middlemiss and his team from SSAFA for their time, dedication and for hosting the art exhibition in Kinross.”
