Deaths in Custody

George Sutherland Mackay, 69, a prisoner from HMP Barlinnie has died on 24 February 2021. He was convicted at Perth Sheriff Court in 2008. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.

Jason Watson, 34, a prisoner from HMP Barlinnie has died on 27 February 2021. He was convicted at Glasgow High Court in 2020. Police Scotland have been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal. A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course.
