The “SPS Research Report Drug Misuse: Pathways and Progression” study sought to evaluate the management of substance misuse in Scottish prisons and in particular policy and practice on ‘front-end’ referral, assessment and intervention for drug misusers.


The “SPS Research Report: The Role of Methadone Maintenance in Scottish Prisons: Prisoners’ Perspectives” was commissioned to examine SPS’s policy and practice on Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT), one of a growing range of drug treatment interventions in Scottish prisons designed to support the desistance of drug use and prevent relapse.
 

The “SPS Research Report: Situational Risk Factors and Institutional Violence aims to look beyond the factors within an individual which can lead to violence and examined the environment in which violence might occur through a systematic assessment of contributing factors using the developed the PRISM instrument and its 5 analytical domains.
