Procurement Policy and Services:  Buyer Profile

This Procurement Department portal carries information on SPS advertisements, and on how we do business with outside companies.  We hope you will be better informed about the SPS, and better able to judge if you wish to express interest in a particular advertisement.

Th
e SPS purchases a wide range of Goods, Services and Works (construction, estate and facility maintenance) to support the various prisons located across Scotland.   In all such purchases we seek to deliver value for money for the taxpayer.

  • The SPS does not maintain a list of approved or preferred suppliers.  Sending information to us on a speculative basis will not lead to your company being invited to bid when contract opportunities do arise.   The onus remains upon any supplier to respond to advertisements that are of interest to them (see the Contract Opportunities link below), and to do so as detailed in the documents.

The prisons occasionally undertake localised procurement on their own behalf:  if you want to write to them directly the addresses can be found on the Home/Prison page of this Website.

HMPS England and Wales, and the Northern Ireland Prison Service are separate organisations and undertake their own procurement.
