Kilmarnock Prison - Visiting

How To Book Family/Friend Visit:

Remand Visits - Book in at Outside Visits, just outside the establishment. All new visitors must bring photographic identification.

Convicted Visits - These must be pre arranged by the prisoner on your behalf. A visit slot will be agreed and the necessary information will be passed to you via the prisoner.

Items you are allowed to bring into the Visits Area include:

Up to £20 in coins, but no paper money please

Your Visit Sheet

Essential medication (must be given to officer at the entrance).

A handkerchief

Locker key from Outside Visits; lock available for you to deposit all other items.

Items which are not allowed include:

Paper money, mobile telephones or SIM cards, cigarettes, lighters, hats, gloves, scarves.

How To Book Agent Visit:

Agent visits times are Monday to Friday between 10.00 am and 16.00.

Please report to the Outside Visits area.

Weekend visits are available through prior arrangement.

Visiting Guidelines:

Photographic Identification and evidence of home address. If you do not have photographic ID, you will be required to bring 3 items i.e. utility bills and something with a signature on it i.e. a bank card.

Please note that birth certificates will not be accepted as forms of ID

Parking Facilities:

Ample car parking is available.

Disabled Facilities:

Ample disabled car parking directly opposite Outside visits area.

Monday & Friday afternoons: 13.30 -14.15 , 14.30 - 15.15 , 15.30 -16.15

Tuesday 10.00 - 12.00, Wednesday 10.00 -11.30, Thursday: 10.00 - 12.00

Weekend: 11.00 - 12.30.

Convicted Visit Times:

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday afternoons: 13.30 - 14.30, 15.00 - 16.00.

Wednesday mornings: 10.00 - 11.00, 11.30 - 12.30.

Bonding Visits Wednesday afternoon: 13.30 - 14.30 , 15.30 - 16.30

Bonding Visits Saturday morning: 09.30 - 10.30.

Friday afternoon & evening: 13.30 - 14.30; 15.00 - 16.00; 18.45 - 19.45; 20.15 - 21.15.

Weekend: 13.30 - 14.30; 15.00 - 16.00; 16.30 - 17.30; 18.45 - 19.45; (20.15 - 21.15 Sunday ONLY)

Handing In Property/Money:

Money can be handed in to the Gatehouse. The prisoner's name and number are required, and a receipt will be given.

Posting In Property/Money:

Please do not post cash; postal orders should be sent by recorded delivery, clearly labelled with the prisoner's name and number.

Property can be handed in at Outside Visits, accompanied by an official property form issued by the prison. This will be sent/given to you by the prisoner.
