  • HMP Kilmarnock is a high security prison with 500 cells. Currently accommodates 596 male prisoners with a maximum contract capacity of 692.
  • The 25 year contract commenced operation 25 March 1999 as the first PFI (DCMF) operation in Scotland.
  • The Contract operates under a performance framework to the Scottish Prison Service with 44 performance measures and 66 outputs.
  • The population is made up of remand, short/long term adult prisoners and young offenders.
