Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a time served Joiner to become a Prison Officer within our Activities function. The post holder will be responsible for the effective management and development of prisoners within the context of the SPS Inclusion Policy. The post holder will support prisoners in gaining appropriate nationally recognised qualifications aimed at improving their employment prospects on release. The post holder will effectively train, instruct and assess prisoners in the theory and practice required to achieve the standards set by the relevant examining body or training organisation.
The successful candidate will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and full training for the role of Prison Officer will be provided. In return the SPS offer gennerous holiday entitlement and a choice of two high quality pension schemes.

Qualifications:
You will have served a recognised Joinery apprenticeship and achieved an accredited qualification (City and Guilds or SVQ equivalent).
