The Visitors Centre was opened on the 16 January 2007 and is situated along from the main Prison entrance at Perth. It is managed by friendly qualified staff of Crossreach. The Centre has a children's play area, toilet and baby changing facilities. Staff are able to provide a signposting service to visitors for any service they may require. The staff at the centre can also provide telephone support to families if they feel isolated and in need of a support network.
Philip Malcolm, the Family Support Project Worker will be providing an outreach service where he can visit families in their own homes to provide structured support. Philip will be able to accept referrals from social workers, chaplains, prison staff or self-referrals from anyone who thinks a family may be in need of some crisis intervention to help them become re-focused and supported.
